Volunteer
Since we are a non-profit organization operating with a small staff, volunteer work is crucial to the functioning of VSAM. We welcome all who are passionate about learning more about the role the arts play in the lives of people with disabilities to come and help us out in different areas and programs:
- At the VSAM office in Boston, helping with a variety of administrative tasks.
- At children's Art Festivals throughout Massachusetts.
- At professional development workshops and conferences.
Internships
We offer internships to college students who are interested in gaining more experience in the fields of arts and disability.
- Internships for students who want to learn more about our programs in order to be better prepared to work with accessibility in the arts and arts in education.
- Internships for students of ASL, who will have the chance to practice their ASL skills at the office while learning about working with people with disabilities.
- Some school programs offer academic credit for internships as well as compensation through work/study funds. Please ask your school for more information. If you are interested in working on something specific (research, etc) as a VSAM intern, please call us to discuss the possibilities.
