I attended art classes
since I was a young person (from 10 years old to a high school student).
My father encouraged and inspired me to explore my artistic talents.
He enrolled me in TAM O' SHANTERNS art course at Carnegie Mellon Institute,
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In my twenties I attended Ivy School of
Art in Pennsylvania, married and raised a family. Upon moving to Boston,
I experienced sorrow from the deaths of my father and my husband.
As a result of their passing I was left to grieve alone and without
much support. I was a single parent in the city of Boston. The depression
set in, and many life changes, by receiving counseling and therapy
I began to use my art talents once again! I decided to attend Newbury
College. I have an Associates degree in Design. In 1999 I came to
Gateway Crafts, there I also learned to expand on my artistic talents.
I am an artist, craftsperson, mother, grandmother and designer. My goal
is to become a textile designer. Semira Rose SER CRAFTS
