"I graduated from the Boston Museum School with distinction in 1969 and from Tufts University with my BFA in 1972.  I have been a portrait painter for the last fifteen to twenty years.  From the time I left school until twenty years ago, I painted large abstract canvases.  These were of no interest to anyone except other artists and critics, so I turned to figurative painting and thereby reaching all people.  I went back to my roots in objective painting and thereby reaching all people I went back to my roots in objective painting.  Studying again; perspective anatomy and figurative painting -- all from classic painting.  I paint and draw in oil, conte crayon and pencil almost exclusively."
