Artists &
Crafters Sought for Gallery Exhibit: A Holiday Affair at The Open Door
Gallery Winter 2010.
Theme:
A broadly interpreted exhibition on a
Winter Holiday theme inclusive of varied media e.g., mixed media, 2-D
mediums, collage, constructions, & printmaking. Crafts to include
wear art e.g., weaving, jewelry and also holiday gift items.
Eligibility:
Open to all artists over 18 years of
age. Open to all media, including 2-D, photography, mixed media,
crafts, and experimental works. All works must be "original"
and have been completed within the last five years. Reproductions of
the artists work can be submitted long as the image being reproduced
(such as for cards, prints, etc.) is their own work. Crafts can be made
from patterns and kits (example- scarves, holiday ornaments, etc.) but
must handmade by the crafter. Open Door Gallery reserves the right
to refuse any work at its sole discretion.
Artist/Crafters Responsibility:
Work that has been accepted for display
at the Open Door Gallery expect all works must arrive
properly labeled with name, address, phone, email, title
of work, medium, and price, if applicable. All work must be secured
with appropriate hanging hardware in place and ready to hang.
Entry and release forms must be completed, and signed.
Reproduction of Art Work:
Open Door Gallery reserves the right
to reproduce submitted works for A Holiday Affair for printed materials,
advertisements, print and electronic media, internet, television, catalog,
DVD, magazine, and gallery shows. Copyright and other rights remain
that of the artist.
Selection Process:
Work will be selected from digital images
submitted by email entries. Jurying will involve viewing the entries
individually and making determinations on the basis of appropriateness
to the "A Holiday Affair" theme. Entry selection will be done electronically.
Image specifications - must adhere to the following; hi-res, color,
300 dpi, 4x6, 1 mg. Each JPG image with caption information.
No more than 8 images per artist/crafter.
Notification, Drop Off, and Pickup of Art Work: All entries will be juried from emailed images submitted to Open Door Gallery. Final selection will be notified by email.
Work will be dropped off at Open Door Gallery one week before start of exhibition. No earlier or later than one week. Art work /Crafts not dropped off at said time will be disqualified from the show.
Notification of acceptance will be made by October 18th, 2010. A list of accepted artists will be available on request.
All art not picked up by the
designated time is subject to a storage charge of $15.
After 30 days, the art, including all rights, title, and interest of
the artist in and to the property shall become the property of the Open
Door Gallery.
Fees:
At this time there are no fees.
Sales are encouraged. As well as
a 20% donation will be deducted to benefit Open Door Gallery from artist
and crafters who consent to making a donation of their sales at the
Open Door Gallery.

Hold Harmless Agreement
